The reason I use the word joyful to describe John and Rachel, is because if you ever have the opportunity to meet them, they are joyful! No doubt about it, and their wedding was nearly as amazing as they were! Especially having the mountain landscape and doing a wedding in NE Albuquerque made it that much better. We posted a few months ago the engagement session where we had the chance to start working with them.
The Wedding Day Events
There are so many players in the game when planning a wedding. If you have ever had the difficult task of having to plan one, places like WeddingWire is great to get your mind wrapped around things like catering, decorations, photographers and live music. But when it comes to photography, John and Rachel’s wedding, as shown below, will give you a good idea about the different parts of the wedding that the photographer handles. So here are those 5 most expected elements of a wedding day; Getting ready, first look, the ceremony, group photos and the reception.
1. Getting Ready for the Wedding
Whenever we arrive there is always so much anticipation and excitement as to what the day will hold. Usually the girls are scrambling for time and the groomsmen are just hanging out letting the time slip away. Their wedding was no exception to the rule for sure. I believe Rachel needed her hair re-done a couple times, and while that was happening, the groomsmen seemed to find enough extra time to fit in a prayer session!
2. First Look
We always recommend that wedding couple consider a ‘first look’ to fit in the plan for the day. There are so many reasons that a couple should consider this. For one, it makes the moment of seeing each other for the first time intimate and something only you and your fiance can experience before the ceremony. It also reduces a lot of stress about whether or not there will be enough time later to get enough photos before the reception. John and Rachel were so sweet the first time they saw each other that day. They gave us the awesome opportunity of capturing everything.
3. The Ceremony
The church that hosted the ceremony was in NE Albuquerque. They had one of the most meaningful ceremonies we can remember. Thoughtful, biblical and full of deep affection for not only each other but friends and family. It was so memorable.
4. Group: Photographing A Wedding in NE Albuquerque
One of the coolest aspects of taking pictures for a couple on their wedding day is when they are open to take some time and make the photos a priority. We had taken their engagement photos in a similar location at a place called Elena Gallegos, but this seemed to be a little farther north in NE Albuquerque. At first the light seemed to be really harsh, and then we were able to enjoy some diffused lighting once the clouds came in. We had so much fun out there even though it was a little cold.
5. The Reception
And finally, the reception is always fun!

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting
my own blog and was wondering what all is required to get set up?
I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very web savvy so I’m not 100% certain. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
